The GFit Spinathon is a fantastic way to support not only GFit however the local community too!
At Goodwinfitness we came up with the perfect way to give back to the community in the best way possible.
The Event
On Saturday 24th August at 11am we are holding an event outside Destination Gym for 24 hours. That event will be The GFit Spinathon, what is the GFit Spinathon well let me explain.
We thought it would be an excellent idea and a great way to give back to the community, and also raise money for a good cause and a charity close to my heart.
What better way to do that whilst also keeping fit is to jump on a spin bike for 24 hours (yes I know we are crazy). It is going to be a challenge but a challenge we are excited for.
A Charity Close To My Heart
The charity that is close to my heart is the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. https://dougiemac.org.uk/ This charity has helped not just myself and my family members when going through a tough time but helped a lot of other people too.
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice helps with the following, Every year, Dougie Mac provides all hospice services free of charge to adults, young adults and children living with a life-limiting illness in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages; also offering supportive care for their families and carers.
Following the amalgamation in March 2021 of children’s hospice The Donna Louise Trust into Dougie Mac, our care now takes place across two sites in Blurton and Trentham as well as out in the local community.
I cannot thank them enough for what and how they helped me and my family when we were going through a tough period. Unfortunately in May 2020 I lost my father and it was with their help we managed to get through a tough period.
Which leads me to this event as I thought of a way to not only thank them however as a way of giving back to them too, so all the money that in generated throughout this event will be going towards the Dougie Mac.

Another way I wanted to give back to them is this way too, so for every shirt sale Men's & Women's £1 of that shirt sale will also be going towards the Dougie Mac, that is going to be live for a month after the event and will end on the 24th September 2024.
The PRIZES!
The great thing about this event is that we have teamed up with Destination Gym & Samuel's Barber's and many more to allow great prizes to be won on the day.
One of the first prizes up for grabs is a years free membership as Destination Gym, a second prize to be won courtesy of Samuel's Barber's is a free hair for a year so a free hair per month, more prizes will be announced on the day!
To be in with a chance to with both of these prizes and more simply enter the raffle, the raffle prices are as follows £2 per ticket £5 per strip, you have to be in it to win it!
Conclusion Time
